Creative Adventure Photo workshop

This workshop is meant for those photographers and adventure seekers who want to spend 1 week on the island of Cuba and who want to see the best places in Havana and Valle de Vinales without spending too much travelling time in Cuba. This shorter workshop, derived from our 14-day Cuba Round Trip will be offered at a very reasonable price since we do not need our own, and costly, transport. From the US, you can fly to Cuba on Saturday and return home on Sunday the week after. This will give us 7 full workshop days to create beautiful images.

Explore of the backstreets of Havana, it's exotic neighbourhoods including Havana Centro, Old Havana and Vedado. We will visit a famous boxing gym, the oceanside promenade Malecón, and the Prado. During day trips we will visit the communities of Regla. We will also visit a beach town close to Havana, Playa del Este.

We will then move onwards to the most picturesque tobacco growing area of Cuba, Valle de Viñales. We will visit welcoming farmer families and find our about their lives.

Both the home stay in a beautiful Cuban casa particular with gorgeous architecture, and all aspects of the daily itinerary are carefully put together to offer photographers access to the vibrant and authentic daily life of the amazing Cuban people.

The workshop

We’re passionate about teaching the different aspects of photography. A good amount of time will be spend on:

  • Giving you detailed feedback and assistance/suggestions from our side

  • Help you to become comfortable photographing strangers in unfamiliar environment with Respect and Dignity towards your subjects. Even if you don't speak the language, Empathy has no language. In return this will make you feel relaxed and confident, which is important for making environmental portraits or street photography.

  • Recognise favourable photography situations. Not everything is interesting to photograph. We will make your internal sirens go off meaning "We've got a situation!" when photographical interesting elements which are resonating with you are aligning. Find 2-3 a day and you had an amazing day. We speak about what such "situations" are and what to do when you find them.

  • Judge the quality of natural light and find the good light at any time of the day. Not only in the early morning or afternoon/evening.

  • How to adjust correctly to low light situations.

We want you to return home with a personally meaningful photo essay.
